According to the website MoneyPOP there are some major restaurant chains that will be either closing or downsizing in 2020. Wyoming is at risk of losing a few of the chains that made the list.

This does not mean that Wyoming will lose these restaurants, but the name of our state is on these potential lists.

Perkins Family Restaurant has 5 locations in Wyoming - Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette, Laramie and Sheridan. Perkins Family Restaurant and Bakery was once known as Perkins Pancake House. The restaurant was founded back in 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Burger King will be downsizing as well. Being such a famous a large chain many people wonder why Burger King made the list. Founded in 1966 as “Insta-Burger King,” in Jacksonville, Florida, they currently have 17,800 restaurants operating around the United States. Burger King currently has locations in Afton, Burns, Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Fort Bridger, Gillette, and Laramie.

International House Of Pancakes - IHOP. IHOP has been around since 1958. The pancake house was founded in Los Angeles, California. Locations in Wyoming include Cheyenne, Evansville, Rock Springs.

Applebee's has 1,830 locations internationally including the U.S., Guam, Puerto Rico, and fifteen other countries. The restaurant tried to modernize itself but it does not seem to be working. Wyoming Applebee's locations include Casper, Cheyenne, Evensville, Gillette, Laramie, and Rock Springs.

Ruby Tuesday has one location - in Gillette, Wyoming. At last count, the chain has around 491 stores around the world. But according to Restaurant BusinessThe chain has closed nearly 50% of its stores in the past 10 years.

Quiznos filed for bankruptcy in 2014, saying that they were still going to operate while they worked on their debt and made operational improvements. Quiznos has locations in Cheyenne, Casper, Sheridan, Gillette, Rock Springs, and Jackson.

PIZZA HUT? Say it isn't so. Locations - ALL OVER. You know if you don't have one in your town. BUT FEAR NOT - The chain has decided that it is going to get out of the sit-down restaurant business and strictly become a carryout and delivery store. Of their 7,450 they might drop that number to 7,000.

Subway is struggling but not going out of business. Stores will be closing but they have thousands of them around the nation. They won't be going out of business any time soon.

Chili's has locations in Cheyenne and Laramie. Their stock has plummeted 40%.

Buffalo Wild Wings with locations in Cheyenne, Casper, and Gillette. The company is not doing well. Recently, Arby’s purchased the chain for $2.9 billion. Lets see what happens now.

QDOBA  with locations in Casper and Cheyenne. Qdoba started in Denver back in 1955. They have been cutting locations with more to come.

Papa Murphy’s with locations in Casper and Riverton. The company was founded in 1995. Their growth spurt ended a long time ago and more cutbacks are coming.

Chipotle has one location in Cheyenne. That is another big chain in big trouble. Will Wyoming lose it's only location?

There are a few others besides these. Nothing is written in stone yet but if these companies need to close some locations a little state like Wyoming needs to worry some.
