GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A 47-year-old Wyoming man has been sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison for beating his wife to death as the couple's daughter made a frantic 911 call.

Timothy Welch of Gillette earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the August 2017 death of 41-year-old Kayleen Welch.

Welch reported he and his wife got into an argument after he returned home from a dentist appointment.

The couple's then 10-year-old daughter called 911 and said her dad was beating her mother.

Prosecutors said she died of severe facial fractures.

Kayleen Welch's father said he and his wife forgive Timothy Welch.

District Judge Michael N. "Nick" Deegan sentenced Welch Tuesday under the terms of a plea agreement.
