We've talked to people that swear up and down they have heard the rare sounds of nature in different parts of the world. Wyoming has her own rare sounds of singing at the dunes.

If you head just a few miles north of Rock Springs, Wyoming and head to the Red Desert, you'll find yourself in what is known as Killpecker Sand Dunes.

What's interesting about these particular sand dunes is that people hear them 'singing.' Killpecker Sand Dunes are known as 1 of 7 singing or booming sand dunes in the entire world.

The way it works is that the sand in a booming, or singing dune, are more polished and rounder than other dunes. If people walk on the grains of sand, or if wind passes over the sand grains, the sand slides down the sides of the hill which makes the sound of 'singing.'
