Wyoming Farm Bureau Sets Policies

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation has adopted policies for the coming year on various issues, including livestock trespass, taxes, wildlife damages and support of the coal industry.

The organization adopted the policies during its annual meeting this month in Laramie.

Farm Bureau President Perry Livingston says the group's policy is founded on the protection of private property rights, constitutional government and individual freedoms.

On livestock trespass, the organization approved supporting the codifying of the "fence-out" concept in state law.

It also approved calling for agricultural land taxes not to be increased by more than 5 percent annually and for allowing landowners to protect their property from wildlife damage if the state fails to act.
