CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming college and tribe have partnered to provide classes on a Native American reservation.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Central Wyoming College will offer classes on the Wind River Reservation beginning in the fall.

The college in Riverton signed an agreement last month with the Northern Arapaho Business Council.

Officials say they hope to encourage more students to start or continue their educations by making attendance easier for those living on the reservation 151 miles west of Casper.

An official at the college 33 miles southeast of the reservation says it is working with Americans for Indian Opportunity to improve cultural understanding and eliminate barriers such as travel and childcare.

Officials say the college is working with Eastern Shoshone leaders on a similar agreement.
