Just last week in Riverton, the city council denied a proposal for a new alcohol ordinance, according to Billings Gazette.

The ordinance that was proposed would've stopped the sale/give away of alcohol to people who are habitually intoxicated.  If a person was involved in six or more criminal offenses in the past 180 days and the person was under the influence, they would go on a list and not be able to purchase alcohol at liquor stores or bars.

If anyone would've been caught selling to someone on the list, the seller would get a fine of up to $750.
