Cheyenne based meteorologist Don Day says Cheyenne can expect to get 4-8 inches of snow from the latest winter storm to rock Wyoming.

Day says a winter storm watch is in effect for Cheyenne tonight and Wednesday. He says showers or thundershowers are possible  in the Cheyenne are by Tuesday afternoon, with rain or snow showers Tuesday night turning to all snow by Wednesday.

He says snow could become heavy at times Wednesday, with winds of up to 40 mph causing blowing and drifting snow and potentially hazardous travel conditions.

The snow is expected to gradually tape off Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Day is the proprietor of Dayweather Inc. in Cheyenne.
