The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued winter storm watches and warnings for areas of southeast Wyoming starting tomorrow and continuing into Friday.

The agency posted the following on its website:

Winter weather return to southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska later on Thursday through Friday. Colder temperatures & accumulating snow are expected. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for areas above 7500 feet in southeast Wyoming.

Increasing clouds, with a high near 71. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Tonight
A 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday
A chance of showers before noon, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 3pm, then showers after 3pm. High near 56. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

On April 6 and 7, 2024, wild winds exceeding 90 mph blew through SE Wyoming, causing havoc in Cheyenne and on the interstate. Everything from fences to semis were upturned in the wind storm. Check out the damage shared by residents below.
