When Will Eastbound I-80 From Cheyenne to Nebraska Reopen?
5 P.M. UPDATE:
Interstate 80 is now open to all traffic in both directions.
UPDATE:
As of 3:30 p.m., the estimated opening time is unknown.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Wyoming Department of Transportation still has no estimate as to when eastbound Interstate 80 from exit 370 (Archer) to the Nebraska state line may reopen.
The 31-mile stretch was closed all day Wednesday, and as of 10:15 a.m. Thursday remained closed due to winter conditions.
WYDOT says high winds have started drifting the recent snowfall, and slick spots and black ice are to be anticipated this morning.
Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland is currently closed to light and high-profile vehicles due to gusting winds and slick conditions, and a no unnecessary travel advisory is in effect between exit 29 (Whitaker Road) and Chugwater.
Drivers are encouraged to call 511 or go to wyoroad.info for the latest road conditions and closure information.
