Weather Alert: Prepare For Rain, Snow, And Strong Winds In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is predicting big changes in our weather starting on Thursday and stretching into early next week.
The agency posted the following on it's website: The weather pattern is changing across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle this week. The good news? We're finally going to see some much needed rain that will help with the fire weather conditions after Wednesday, as a cold front slowly moves through the forecast area. Will start to see showers developing across Carbon County (Rawlins) Thursday, that will eventually spread east Friday into Saturday. The bad news? Pretty cold temperatures behind the front looks to bring good chances for mountain snow, that could possibly reach down to the lower valley areas, west of the Laramie Range Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. This could create travel impacts on Interstate 80 from the Laramie Range, west to Rawlins during this time (Friday afternoon through Saturday morning). Strong winds expected to develop Sunday evening and continue into Monday as the low moves east. Could see wind headlines in the wind prone areas of Interstate 25 and 80 Sunday night into Monday. We really need the moisture, no matter what it falls as. So here's hoping you get some moisture! Stay tuned!
