Wanted Man Nabbed After Stealing Vodka From Cheyenne Liquor Store
A wanted man is behind bars after reportedly stealing a bottle of vodka from a Cheyenne liquor store.
According to a booking sheet, police were called to The Albany Liquormart at 1506 Capitol Ave. around 3:36 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, to a report of a male who shoplifted a bottle of Stolichnaya vodka.
Police contacted the store manager who told them that a Hispanic male stole a bottle of vodka and left westbound through the alley.
A deputy with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office contacted a male matching the description in the 1600 block of Snyder Avenue and he was identified as 33-year-old transient Ray Carrillo.
Police say Carrillo was carrying a backpack that contained the unopened bottle of Stolichnaya vodka, and admitted he was in the liquor store and stole it.
When police ran Carrillo's name, they discovered he had a felony warrant out of Adams County, Colorado for failure to comply on an original charge of contempt of court.
Carrillo was arrested on the warrant and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.
He's scheduled to appear before Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee tomorrow, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. for a hearing on extradition.
