Council members White, Laybourne, Segrave, Johnson and Aldrich are all incumbents who are running for re-election. Notably absent so far is councilman Bryan Cook, who is an incumbent in Ward II.

Two seats are on the ballot from each of the city's three wards. Under Wyoming law, mayoral and city council elections are non-partisan, meaning candidates don't formally affiliate with political parties or receive party nominations. Instead, the top two vote-getters for each open seat in the primary advance to the November general election.
