Trucker Dead After Flipping Rig on I-80 Exit Ramp in Wyoming
A trucker is dead after flipping their rig on an Interstate 80 exit ramp early Friday morning, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.
The crash happened around 1:23 a.m. at exit 89 in Green River.
According to a fatality crash summary, 54-year-old Michigan resident Loren Brisco was exiting westbound I-80 when Brisco failed to negotiate the right-hand curve of the exit ramp.
"The vehicle continued into the borrow ditch where the driver overcorrected back to the right, which caused the vehicle to flip onto the driver's side," the summary reads.
Brisco was not wearing a seat belt and died in the rollover.
The summary lists speed as a possible contributing factor.
Of the 92 people who have died on Wyoming's highways so far this year, 22, or 23.91%, have died in crashes on I-80.
