Statistically, violent crimes such as robbery, rape, assault, and murder are down on a national level, but there are cities that may not have gotten the memo.

Still, keeping things in perspective, Rock Springs may be the most violent in a very non-violent state, they are well below the national average.

That said, a point to consider is sexual assault.

“In 2016 Rock Springs’ rate of reported rapes reached 145 cases per 100,000 residents, the 20th highest rate of any city, and more than three and a half times higher than the national average.”
