Numerous Torrington High School students will be receiving citations after they were caught drinking at a school dance this past weekend, police say.

Most of the illegally parked vehicles were towed from the Avenues area near Frontier Park.

The Torrington Police Department is investigating allegations that employees at Eastern Wyoming College attempted to cover-up underage drinking on campus.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says the department responded to​ 2,990 calls for service during the 10-day event, an 11.5 percent increase over last year.
