Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has announced the appointment of T.J. Forwood as a Circuit Court Judge for the First Judicial District in Laramie County.

Forwood fills the vacancy that was created when Judge Thomas Lee retired.

Forwood's Resume Includes The Laramie County District Attorney's Office

In the words of the release from the governor's office:

Forwood has served as an assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Wyoming since 2014. He previously served for seven years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office. Forwood also worked in the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, where he represented the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. A Cheyenne native, Forwood earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Wyoming.

“TJ’s extensive courtroom experience at all levels of Wyoming’s court system, as well as the considerable time he has spent prosecuting cases in Laramie County Circuit Court, make him well equipped to serve as a judge,” Governor Gordon said.

A Little Wyoming School House Preserved In Time

The little hamlet of Slater Wyoming has preserved on of their last two remaining buildings with all the love they feel for it.

There was once a tiny town on this spot.

Most everything is gone except the schoolhouse and the community building.

I stopped by one Saturday morning and the locals were more than happy to let us in to have a look.
