
Strong Winds Close Much Of Interstates 80 And 25 To Some Vehicles
Strong winds have closed large stretches of interstates 80 and 25 to light, high profile vehicles at this hour.
That's according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation's road conditions website:
WYDOT says I-80 is closed to light, high profile vehicles between Cheyenne and Rawlins, The entire length of Interstate 25 in Cheyenne is under the same restrictions except for a stretch of road between Douglas and Wheatland.
The closed areas of both interstates are under an extreme blow over risk.
High Wind Warnings Issued
Much of southeast Wyoming was under a High Wind Warning at last report, with winds of up to 75 miles per hour possible, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service

On April 6 and 7, 2024, wild winds exceeding 90 mph blew through SE Wyoming, causing havoc in Cheyenne and on the interstate. Everything from fences to semis were upturned in the wind storm. Check out the damage shared by residents below.
