Store BLVD. To Remain Closed Through Dec. 13 For BOPU Project
The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities says a stretch of Storey Boulevard between Powderhouse Road and Converse Avenue will be closed through December 13 for Work on the North City Improvements Project Phase II.
That's according to a Friday news release from the BOPU. Originally the Storey Closure had been expected to end after today [November 21]. The Friday release also notes that construction schedules could change due to weather conditions and the availability of materials.
The BOPU also says water customers may notice some changes, including fluctuating water pressure. The release says even in cases of lower water pressure, the pressure level will remain within established industry standards.
What To Do If your Water Is Discolored
The pressure changes may also cause some customers to experience discolored water.
The BOPU says if you notice that your water is discolored, you can try taking some steps to address the discoloration:
- Run cold water from a faucet for approximately 20–30 minutes.
- Start with the lowest faucet in your home, then open additional faucets one at a time, moving from the lowest floor to the highest.
- Avoid using hot water or doing laundry until the water clears to prevent sediment from entering water heaters or staining clothing.
While discolored water does not meet Cheyenne’s usual aesthetic standards, it remains safe to use
