A combination of excessive speed and poor weather conditions are being investigated as possible factors in a one-car rollover that claimed the life of a California man on Interstate 80 in Sweetwater County Friday night.

Wyoming Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Steve Townsend says a vehicle driven by 58 year old Thomas Streicher of Nevada City, Calif. was westbound on I-80 about 22 miles west of Wamsutter a little after 9 p.m. under icy conditions.Townsend says Streicher's 1992 Ford Van careened out of control rolling 1 1/2 times.

Townsend says Streicher was not wearing a seat belt during the rollover and was declared dead in the ambulance following the accident.
