Cold, wet weather, including some snow, is on tap for southeast Wyoming over the next few days, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted this statement on its website on Tuesday:

"It looks like a cool and wet weather pattern will set up over the area beginning today and especially on Wednesday and Thursday with rain and higher elevation snow likely. A few afternoon storms are possible today mainly over southeast Wyoming but no severe storms are expected. Colder air will move into the area early Wednesday with snow levels lowering into areas adjacent to the mountains. Some accumulating snow is likely later Wednesday into Thursday, with several inches expected over the mountains, including the I-80 Summit area. This may create some travel difficulties."
