Christmas came early for 8-year-old Tahlia and about 70 other foster kids who got to "Shop With a Hero" Tuesday evening.

Laramie County first responders became personal shoppers, fanning out across the north Cheyenne Walmart with $100 gift cards donated by the store.

"It was a super rewarding experience," said F.E. Warren Airman First Class Logan Ennis, who got to shop with Tahlia.

"It kind of brings joy to you (and) reminds you about what the holidays are about," Ennis added. "And it's pretty cool to reach out and connect with the community too."

"She had so much fun," said Tahlia's foster mom. "It was really heartwarming to see her smile that big because she doesn't smile very much lately."
