Rock Springs Man Faces Multiple Charges in Theft Cases
A multi-agency investigation has led to numerous charges against a 33-year-old Rock Springs man, according to a release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's Department spokesman Dick Blust says Danny Winner faces charges including one count of burglary, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of theft and one count of possession of burglar tools.
Blust says the charges are in connection with a burglary last month at the Brady Gas Plant south of Rock Springs as well as another a few days later at the Questar facility east of Wyoming Highway 430.
Blust says some of the evidence against Winner came after investigators seized his pickup and executed a search warrant on the vehicle. He says if Winner is convicted he could be sentenced as a habitual offender based on several previous crimes:
-Convicted on June 18, 2008, of Burglary and Theft, both felonies, in Uintah County, Utah
- Convicted on September 10, 2010, of Wrongful Taking or Disposing of Property, a felony, in District Court in Green River, Wyoming
- Convicted on November 10, 2008, of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony, in Moffat County, Colorado.
- Convicted on March 7, 2013, of three counts of Burglary, all felonies, in District Court in Green River, Wyoming.
The case was investigated by agencies including the Rock Springs Police Department, Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department, Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, and several others.
