Reid says the remains, which were found on private property in the area of Terry Ranch Road and Parsley Boulevard on Oct. 14, 2024, have been positively identified as those of 59-year-old Roy Arthur Moates.

"Identification was made possible with the help from Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Diane France and through DNA analysis from the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation," Reid said in a press release.
"The Laramie County Coroner’s Office along with the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the public’s assistance in this long-standing investigation and sends their deepest condolences to Roy’s family and friends during this difficult time," Reid added.
Reid says due to the condition of the remains, the cause and manner of death are undetermined.
