While cool temperatures and overall conditions are not overly favorable for fires in southeast Wyoming today (Tuesday), that is expected to change over the next couple of days, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted this statement on its website earlier today:

''A Red Flag Warning is in effect Wednesday afternoon into early evening (11am to 8pm), with a Fire Weather Watch also in effect for Thursday afternoon for much of southeastern Wyoming. Due to expected warm temperatures, gusty winds, and low humidity fire weather danger will be high to very high. Dry thunderstorms may also occur Thursday afternoon and evening increasing the potential for wildfire ignitions. Be extremely careful with any outdoor burning as any fires may spread quickly.''
