Cheyenne motorists can expect to see orange cones and detour signs over the next several months, as the city begins work on Phase II of the 19th Street Reconstruction Project.

The intersection of West 19th Street and Snyder Avenue will be closed for about five weeks, weather permitting. 19th Street from Snyder Avenue to Missile Drive will also be closed.

Phase II, which stretches from Pioneer Avenue to Crow Creek, will include new water and sewer lines; curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement; and extensive stormwater and drainage work.

The $5.4 million project is expected to be completed by the end of November. Funding for the project comes from the 5th Penny Tax and the Board of Public Utilities.
