Police: Cheyenne Man Dies From Injuries 2 Days After Bike Crash
A 26-year-old Cheyenne man who was hit by an SUV while riding his bicycle in southeast Cheyenne Sunday evening has died, police announced Friday.
Public Information Officer Alex Farkas says the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. near the 800 block of North College Drive.
Farkas says Tristan Martinez was riding in the southbound lane when he was struck by a gray Dodge Journey traveling in the same direction.
Martinez suffered life-threatening injuries and was life-flighted to a Colorado hospital, where he was declared dead two days later.
Farkas says Martinez was wearing dark-colored clothing and his bicycle did not appear to have any lighting.
She says the SUV driver, also from Cheyenne, showed no signs of impairment and remained on the scene to assist officers with their investigation.
