Wheatland Wyoming, Platte School District No. 1 (PCSD#1) may be moving to a four-day school week as early as fall 2020. (PC Record Times).

On Monday, Jan. 20 the board of trustees held a meeting in the high school auditorium to discuss what a four-day school week looks like.

The district is required to makes sizable cuts to the current budget that would amount to over one million. Reasons sited were overspending, rising health insurance, and transportation costs. There have also been accusations of mismanagement of school funds by previous boards. Add to that the State of Wyoming's cap on special education funding.

There was even talk of closing schools in Chugwater and Glendo as part of the solution.
