A Wednesday evening rear-end crash inside the city limits of Cheyenne has claimed the life of a 74-year-old Pine Bluffs man, according to a spokesman for the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Sgt. David Wagener says the accident happened at 8:10 p.m. on Interstate 80 about a mile west of the College Drive I-80 exit. A Toyota passenger car driven by Dennis Noack of Pine Bluffs rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee driven by 57-year-old Karl Musgrave of Cheyenne as both vehicles were driving east on the interstate.

Wagener says both cars tripped and rolled into a south ditch. Noack, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown out of his car and killed.

Musgrave and a 55-year-old woman who was a passenger in his car were both wearing seatbelts and were not thrown from the Jeep.

They were taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released.

Sgt. Wagener says speed and lane use are being looked at as possible factors in the crash.
