The U.S. House of Representatives last week approved a bill that would eventually raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour.

The proposal now goes on to the United States Senate.

Supporters of the bill argue that it is needed to make sure those working at minimum wage jobs make enough money to live on. Opponents argue the increase will lead to the elimination of minimum wage jobs because companies will not want to pay some employees that much, especially since they can often replace such employees with automation systems that cost less money.

So what do you think?

Should the federal minimum wage be raised to $15 per hour? We'll publish the results of our survey on Monday, July 29.
