How To Nominate Someone For Citizen Of The Year

Nominating someone is simple. Just mention a name under comments on the pinned post on the KGAB Facebook page! If you want you may also enter a brief description as to why you think they should be Citizen of The Year.

We'll take the four people who are most mentioned and put up a poll next week on who the winner should be.

What Is The Criteria?

The criteria is simple.

  • They must be any Cheyenne resident who does a lot for the community.
  • While officeholders are certainly eligible, it's not a contest to name our favorite politician.
  • Young or old, male or female, private citizen or public figure, lifetime resident or someone who just moved here, all are eligible.
  • While it may be a name everyone recognizes, people who quietly work behind the scenes to make Cheyenne a better place are absolutely eligible!

As an example of what we are looking for, the 2023 winner was Angel Maldonado. People who nominated him said he accomplished "continuous community service and events hosted by himself and his barbershop, Presidential Barbershop, We Got Your Back, and the Christmas toy drive he hosted, to name a few. He is an amazing force for our community and those that need it the most."

So who do you think should be the Townsquare Media Cheyenne Citizen of the Year for 2024? Enter the person's name on our Facebook page. We'll tally the mentions and announce the four finalists next week!

Meet the Four-Legged Heroes of the Cheyenne Police Department

They may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but make no bones about it, police dogs play a vital role in the fight against crime.

In many situations, they're the first ones to put their lives on the line to protect their human partners, proving that not all heroes wear capes, some wear fur coats.
