No Significant Injuries Reported in Vehicle Fire Near Cheyenne
No significant injuries were reported in a vehicle fire that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 80 near Cheyenne, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation at 2:15 p.m. reported that the eastbound lanes were blocked at milepost 358 due to the fire, and at 2:26 p.m. said traffic was being detoured at Roundtop Road.
The eastbound lanes were reopened at 2:31 p.m.
"The cause of the vehicle becoming engulfed is still being investigated," the patrol said in a 2:48 p.m. Facebook post.
The patrol says the preliminary investigation indicates a mechanical failure may have caused the vehicle to catch fire.
