Meet Wyoming’s New “Official” Amphibian [VIDEO]
Legislation has passed the Wyoming House and Senate, and now the governor will consider the bill, offered by high school students from Pathfinder High School in Lander, to name the state's only species of salamander as the official state amphibian.
Salamanders are delicate, secretive and small. But the tiger salamander, however, is larger, and apparently, make a great pet.
Tigers are arguably more widespread than the American bullfrog. They are from a group known as mole salamanders. They have beefy bodies with strong legs and feet for digging.
This is Wyoming's only salamander. No other kind live in our state.
The video, above, explains a bit more about Wyoming's latest, official, creature. Now if we can just give it horns, like the Jackalope.
