Man Hit, Killed by Van in Laramie County

A Laramie County man is dead after he was hit by a van while trying to walk across East Fox Farm Road Tuesday night.

Laramie County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Captain Linda Gesell says deputies were called to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian in the 700 block of Fox Farm around 8:15 p.m.

When deputies arrived they found 33-year-old Shannon Daugherty lying face down in the middle of the eastbound lane.

Daugherty was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Gesell says the driver of the van, whose name is not being released at this time, told deputies that he was on his way home from work when he hit Daugherty with the right, passenger side of his van.

The incident remains under investigation.
