The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms are possible in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle Thursday afternoon and evening.

The storms could include 60 mph winds, hail, and possibly even an occasional tornado. The agency posted this statement on its website:

"A few strong to severe thunderstorms are expected mainly late Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening over the plains, with a somewhat greater threat over the northeast part of the Nebraska Panhandle. Large hail and strong winds are the main threat but an isolated tornado or two is also possible. Make preparations now for potential severe weather on Thursday and keep up with the latest forecasts and updates!"
