The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about the possibility of damaging winds and large hail in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle on Saturday afternoon and evening.

The agency posted this statement on its website on Saturday morning:

Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and continue through the evening across southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska Panhandle. Storms are expected to become severe after 2 pm today and could continue into this evening. Large hail greater than one inch and damaging winds are the expected thunderstorm threats. Stay alert through the afternoon and early evening as storms develop and conditions change. Storms will shift out of the area to the south and east by around 9 pm.
