National Weather Service Warns Of High Fire Danger In SE Wyoming
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for some areas of southeast Wyoming this week, while other areas are under a Fire Weather Watch.
The fire weather watch area includes Laramie and far western Laramie County, but at last report Cheyenne was not included. A more severe Red Flag Warning has been issued for Cheyenne and Albany Counties.
The agency posted the following on its website:
A dry and breezy week will bring critical fire weather conditions to Carbon and Albany Counties. Daily relative humidity values into the teens to single digits alongside gusty winds between 20-30 mph, sometimes up to 40 mph, will create an environment conducive of rapid fire spreads.
