Judge Tosses Charge Against Cheyenne Man in Death of 19-Year-Old
A Laramie County Circuit Court judge has thrown out the case against a 21-year-old Cheyenne man accused of helping a murder suspect.
Charging documents allege Austin Aranda drove Armando Ramirez-Serna to Glenrock on Nov. 26 after Ramirez-Serna allegedly shot 19-year-old Justin Robinson in the head.
Laramie County Sheriff's deputies found Robinson's body in a reservoir on the Wyoming Hereford Ranch after responding to a report of a burned vehicle on Burlington Trail Road.
Aranda was facing a single count of accessory after the fact, but Judge Denise Nau, on Tuesday, ruled there wasn't probable cause to bind the case over to District Court.
Seventeen-year-old Angelo Trujillo, who's accused of helping Ramirez-Serna burn the vehicle and dispose of Robinson's body, waived his preliminary hearing on Monday.
He remains free on a $3,000 cash bond while awaiting arraignment.
Ramirez-Serna, who was arrested in Kimball, Nebraska on Dec. 2, has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated robbery-deadly weapon, first-degree arson and concealing a felony.
He's currently being held in the Kimball County Jail awaiting extradition back to Laramie County.
