A Jackson Republican with White House experience is considering running for the seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi, according to a news release from his out-of-state political consulting firm.

Bob Grady has extensive government, business and community experience, according to the news release from Bill Stepien of the Washington, D.C., consulting firm National Public Affairs.

“Senator Enzi has served the people of Wyoming with great skill and wonderful common sense for these past two decades, and all of us are grateful for his service," Grady said in the prepared statement.

“Senator Enzi has served the people of Wyoming with great skill and wonderful common sense for these past two decades, and all of us are grateful for his service," he said. "His retirement now creates the certainty that there will be an open seat in Wyoming’s Congressional delegation."

Stepien told the Jackson Hole News & Guide that Grady may consider running for the U.S. House of Representatives if current Rep. Liz Cheney's seat is vacated.

But Stepien declined to comment to K2 Radio about whether Grady would run for the Wyoming's lone U.S. House seat.

In the news release, Grady said he will talk with people in the state to listen to residents' concerns as he considers running.

Grady worked in the White House for former President George H.W. Bush as the associate director of the Office of Management and Budget for Natural Resources, Energy and Science, and then as Deputy Assistant to the President and Executive Associate Director of OMB. He also was the chief speechwriter and senior policy advisor during Bush’s successful presidential campaign in 1988.

His other government and business experience includes being an economic advisor to former Gov. Matt Mead, finance chairman of the Wyoming Republican Party, member of the steering committee of the Wyoming Business Alliance, trustee of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, and co-founder and sponsor of the Governor’s Annual Global Technology Summit

He also is a board member of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, a member of the Wyoming State Banking Board, a former partner of Cheyenne Capital, and immediate past Chairman of the St. John’s Hospital Foundation.

Grady is an honors graduate of Harvard College and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has been married to the former Colleen Maloney of Jackson for more than 17 years, and they have two children.

K2 Radio has left a message seeking comment from Grady.
