Sheridan has won 3 of the last 4 state championships in 4A football and the Broncs served notice that they will be title contenders yet again. Sheridan went on the road to start the season on Friday and took care of Cheyenne Central 26-7.

Central opened up the scoring in the first quarter on an 8-yard run to the end zone from Mason Counter giving the Indians a 7-0 lead. Sheridan got serious in the 2nd quarter with a field goal, a 4-yard run for a touchdown from Dominick Berrettini, and a 21-yard gallop for a score from Nahir Aguirre.

After a scoreless 3rd quarter, Sheridan's Terran Grooms got into the end zone from 6 yards out and the Bronc defense capped a solid night on the field with a safety. Sheridan receiver Dane Steel caught 9 balls for 181 yards. Central quarterback Miles Porwall threw for 94 yards but ran for 96.

Sheridan will have their home opener this week against Cheyenne South and Central hits the road for Casper to meet Kelly Walsh. We have a collection of pics from this game at Riske Field on Friday night from Cindi Lindsey. They are located in our gallery below.
