Burns and Wheatland battled it out on the gridiron on Friday night in 2A football and this ended up going right down to the wire. Wheatland senior Waylon Milnes opened the scoring with a 2-yard plunge for the touchdown to make it 7-0. Milnes had 145 yards rushing on 36 carries in the game.

Burns would end up tying the game as Mason Medley connected with Shaw Martin for 69 yards and a touchdown so that made it 7 all. It stayed that way through regulation and Burns broke through on their first possession in overtime as Mason Terry got into the end zone from 8 yards out. The 2-point try was good so the Broncs led 15-7. Wheatland didn't muster anything on their 1st possession on offense giving up the ball on downs as Burns wins it by 8 to get to 3-3 on the year.

The Broncs have won 3 of their last 4 games and in their 3 wins, Burns has allowed 26 points total and will be at home this week to meet Upton-Sundance.  Wheatland is 2-4 on the season and is scheduled to play at Tongue River on Friday. That may or may not happen due to the fire conditions in Sheridan County.

We have some nice photos to share from the Wheatland-Burns game, compliments of Randy Bell. They're located in our gallery below. Enjoy!
