A spokeswoman for Black Hills Energy says the company is working to relight of affected natural gas services following a line break on Tuesday.

Laurie Farkas gave Laramie Live the following statement on Wednesday morning:

– October 23, 2024 – Throughout the evening of October 22, Black Hills Energy crews responded to a damaged line in the 400 block of Fremont Street in Laramie, which impacted 10 customers. Crews worked closely with emergency response agencies to secure the area and repair the line. The City of Laramie Fire Department assisted with an evacuation of the immediate area, which was lifted at approximately 10:15 p.m. Black Hills Energy is working to complete a relight of affected natural gas services.

As a reminder, please be aware of the following safety tips:

• Be alert for leaking natural gas. If you smell natural gas, leave the building or area immediately and tell others to leave, too.

• After you’re safely away from the area, call 911 and our emergency number at 888- 890-5554. Never assume someone else has reported a natural gas leak. Alert your neighbors.

• Do not turn on lights, ignite a flame, use a cell phone, or use anything that might cause a spark, including a flashlight or a generator.

What Caused The Leak Still Being Investigated

Farkas says at this point the incident remains under investigation.

Kate Allred of Albany County Emergency Management says the leak was reported at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Wyoming's Best Halloween Decorations 2024

This year Wyoming morning talk radio show host Glenn Woods went to Casper Wyoming with artist and photographer Tim Mandeze and found the best Halloween decorations in the state.

That's not to say that other towns did not have some amazing displays.

But Casper wins for 2024.

In this gallery, we will show you the daytime photos.

The next gallery will show you some amazing homes lit up for the spookiest day of the year.

We tried to find as many homes as we could. Sorry if we missed yours.
