LARAMIE -- Cowboy guards Sam Griffin and Brendan Wenzel earned All-Mountain West honors by the conference media on Monday. It marks the first postseason MW honors for both players.

Griffin leads the Cowboys in scoring this season at 16.8 points per game for sixth in the conference. He also leads the team with 3.4 assists per game, which ranks tenth in the conference. He has knocked down 73 three pointers this season, a number that ranks fourth in the MW.

He has scored in double figures 26 times this season and has scored 20 or more points in 11 games. He was named the MW Player of the Week following the Pokes win over Nevada. He recently went over the 2,000-point mark for his career.

Wenzel ranks fourth on the team adding 11.5 points per game. In conference games this season Wenzel has recorded 13.7 points per game to rank second on the team behind only Sam Griffin. Wenzel has made 60 three-pointers this season to rank tenth in the conference. He has made three or more 13 times this season. He has 44 made threes in conference play to rank fifth in the MW. He ranks 12th in the league in defensive rebounds this season at 4.3.

He has scored 20 or more points five times all coming in conference play and has scored in double-figures 17 times this season.
