LARAMIE -- Things are certainly different around here.

Jay Sawvel kicked off his first spring football camp in style, blaring tunes and interacting with players, coaches and, yes, even the media, Tuesday afternoon in Laramie.

While it appeared to be business as usual on the field -- and it was, at a fast pace, too -- it was hard not to notice some small, but impactful changes. Like Steamboat stickers on players' helmets, for one. That honor is typically reserved for the opening week of the season.

It's the little things. Just ask the players.

Cody Tucker and Jared Newland dive into this new era of Cowboy football, breaking down the glaring differences between now and this time a year ago. We also have a nice chat about the poignant comments made by Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman, who spoke with the media for 20-plus minutes on Tuesday.

He spoke about the state of the men's basketball program, the transfer portal and the NIL. Burman also touched on scheduling and the job Jeff Linder did in Year 4.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
