
MW Players of the Week: SJSU’s Walker Eget Torches ‘Bows D
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Old Trapper Mountain West Football Players of the Week have been announced for Week 10. San José State senior quarterback Walker Eget has been tabbed the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Spartan running back Steve Chavez-Soto is the MW Freshman of the Week.

Fresno State junior nickel Simeon Harris was named MW Defensive Player of the Week and New Mexico senior kicker Luke Drzewiecki is the MW Special Teams Player of the Week.
The MW awards are the second for Eget and the first each for Harris, Drzewiecki and Chavez-Soto.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WALKER EGET, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Senior, Quarterback, Santa Clarita, California/West Ranch HS
• Completed 20 passes for 458 yards and two touchdowns in San José State’s 45-38 win over Hawai‘i.
• His 458 passing yards were the fourth-most in a game by an FBS player this season and increased his FBS-leading average to 325.9 per game.
• Added 25 rushing yards for 483 yards of total offense.
• Extended his streak of consecutive passes without an interception to 268, the third-longest streak in MW history.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SIMEON HARRIS, FRESNO STATE
Junior, Nickel, Vallejo, California/Utah State
• Had six tackles, a forced fumble and an interception in Fresno State’s 30-7 win at Boise State, which clinched bowl eligibility for the Bulldogs and ended the Broncos’ 16-game home winning streak.
• Among his six tackles were a career-high three tackles for loss and a strip sack for his first career forced fumble, which Fresno State recovered.
• His interception with 1:28 left in the first half led to a Fresno State field goal that put the Bulldogs ahead to stay.
• Led a Bulldog defense that limited Boise State to a season-low 193 total yards and its fewest points scored at home since 2012.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LUKE DRZEWIECKI, NEW MEXICO
Senior, Kicker, Shelby Township, Michigan/Utica Eisenhower HS
• Scored a career-high-tying 10 points as New Mexico beat UNLV 40-35 to become bowl eligible.
• Was 4-for-4 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals.
• Converted a season-long 46-yard field goal on the final play of the first half and added a 40-yarder on the Lobos’ first drive of the second half.
• Became New Mexico’s career extra points leader with his second of the day and finished the game two points shy of becoming UNM’s career kick scoring leader.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
STEVE CHAVEZ-SOTO, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Freshman, Running Back, Chino, California/Orange Lutheran HS
• Had 10 carries for 53 yards and a career-best three rushing touchdowns in San José State’s 45-38 win over Hawai‘i.
• Became the first Spartan running back with three touchdowns in a game since 2023.
• Averaged 5.3 yards per carry.
