Investigators Looking Into Colorado Cold Case From 1996
The Weld County Sheriff's Office is looking into the homicide of a Fort Collins woman who died in 1996.
According to a post on the Weld County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Sheryl Hahn Parker was killed in a De Camino motel room in 1996, but no one has ever been convicted in connection with her killing.
The post says Parker was last seen alive on the night of July 17, 1996, when she rented a room at the Budget Host Motel in Del Camino. Her body was found floating in the St. Vrain River on July 26, 1996. The Weld County Coroner found that Parker had died of blunt force trauma and ruled her death a homicide. Investigators looking into her death found that she had checked into the motel to get away from her husband, Glenn Edward ''Ed" Parker, who she was divorcing.
Ed Parker was considered the prime suspect in the killing. He hired an attorney after his wife's body was found and has refused to be interviewed by law enforcement about her death, according to the post.
The article says Ed Parker later married one of Sherry's close friends and now lives in unincorporated Weld County.
Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact Det. Byron Kastilahn at (970) 400-2827 or bkastilahn@weldgov.com.
