As of 6:20 a.m. Thursday, the eastbound lane of Interstate 80 was closed between Cheyenne and the Nebraska line.

I-80 was also closed in Nebraska, with a blizzard warning remaining in effect in that state. Local traffic was being permitted, however.

Large sections of both Interstates 80 and 25 had black ice warnings in effect as well, and officials with the Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service were urging people to avoid unnecessary travel even though the blizzard warning in southeast Wyoming has now been lifted.
