ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) — Horse races may be ending at an events center in southwest Wyoming.

Employees at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs say they will recommend discontinuing horse racing. They say interest is down and others want to be able to rent the facility at the same time.

The Rock Springs Rocket-Miner reports Sweetwater Downs hosts horse racing at the events center over three weekends in August and September.

Events center Executive Director Larry Lloyd says the racing occupies a large portion of the facility for a month with little return to the community.
