Do you remember a favorite teacher who inspired you in school?

My journalism and drama teacher at Cheyenne Central High School, Barbara Bobbitt, inspired me to become the writer and broadcaster I am today, so I'd like to recognize her as one of Cheyenne's Hometown Heroes.Miss Bobbitt was the drama instructor my first year at Central High and she helped us put together a mime troupe called 'Almost Mime' that traveled Wyoming in competition, she was also the adviser for the school newspaper, 'The Lariat,' and the 'Pow Wow' yearbook.

That's Miss Bobbitt in the lower right corner of the Pow Wow staff photo from 1979. She made putting together a newspaper, a yearbook and a mime show lots of fun, thank you Barbara Bobbitt.

I want to thank Steve Cooper for asking if I had any Hometown Heroes; it gave me an opportunity to recognize a teacher who made a big difference in my life here in the Capitol City.

Who's your Hometown Hero?
