The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce has endorsed several Cheyenne/Laramie  County candidates for office.

That's according to a chamber news release. The release says more candidates will win endorsements as the organization conducts more candidate interviews. In the words of the release:

Your Cheyenne Chamber has been undergoing an interview process with the majority of candidates running for various local offices to determine which would provide support for the business community. Candidates that hold values that align with the Chamber mission and have goals that support a better future for Cheyenne will receive a Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce endorsement. These endorsements will be rolled out on a weekly basis as interviews are completed.

The Chamber Has Endorsed Both Incumbents And Challengers

Here are the candidates endorsed by the chamber so far:

  • Jen Solis, House District 41
  • Bill Henderson, House District 41
  • Tamara Trujillo, House District 44
  • Taft Love, Senate District 06
  • Lee Filer, HD44
  • Seth Ulvestad, HD11
  • Jeff White, City Council Ward 1
  • Richard Johnson, City Council Ward 3
  • Dr. Michelle Aldrich, City Council Ward 3

Aldrich, Johnson, and White are incumbent members of the Cheyenne City Council, and no challengers for the 6 council seats on the ballot were endorsed. Henderson and Trujillo are incumbent legislators The chamber endorsed two candidates for House 41, with Henderson winning the endorsement on the Republican side and Solis getting chamber backing in the Democratic Primary for the seat.

In House District 44, the chamber endorsed two Republicans, incumbent Tamara Trujillo and challenger Lee Filer.

Wyoming's Primary Election is scheduled for August 20, and the 2024 U.S. General Election will be held on Nov. 5.
