Governor Gordon Orders Flags To Half-Staff July 31 For Gus Fleischli
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has ordered that the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half-staff on July 31 in honor of Cheyenne businessman and former state lawmaker Gus Fleischli.
The honor only applies to the state capitol and in Laramie County. It takes effect at sunrise on July 31 and ends at sunset on that day.
Fleischli Served Several Terms In The Wyoming Legislature
Fleischli, who passed away on July 21, represented Laramie County in the Wyoming Senate from 1953-1955 and served three terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives.
The governor issued the following statement on his passing:
“Wyoming lost a statesman and great community leader with the passing of my friend Gus. They don’t make them like Gus much any more. I will miss his sense of humor and his canny wisdom. Wyoming has lost a good one, and it is appropriate that we remember his contributions to our state during Cheyenne Frontier Days, where his volunteer service spanned decades.”
